DCFC U15 team were able to live the dream during their recent mid-term break, having travelled over to Manchester to play the Manchester cup champions the Reddish Vulcans from Stockport and then a prestigious friendly against none other than Manchester city in their new £200m purpose built Etihad Arena training complex.
The Boys flew out to Manchester on Tuesday morning before playing the Reddish Vulcans on Tuesday night. Goals from Ewan Coughlan and Cathal Flemming giving the Irish lads victory over their English counterparts in a fiercely competitive encounter. On Wednesday, the boys took on Manchester City’s u14 team and eventually lost 7 2 after leading 1 nil for 25 minutes. Goals from Ewan Coughlan and Tagdh Redmond were well deserved and it was an experience the boys will never forget. Man City’s first team players Clichey and Navas attended the match as their younger brothers were playing against our lads.

The trip was rounded off on Thursday with a day at Old Trafford where the lads got to do a full stadium tour, sit in the dressing rooms and walk out the famous tunnel. Well done to the coaches and parents who travelled with the boys and to all involved in the organisation which goes into such as trip, but it is one that will live long in the memory of all the boys and they are already saving for a return trip next year.!!
