The weekend of 18th & 19th July seen us host our second 5-A-Side Tournament and once again it was a great success with 70 teams taking part over the 2 days. We would like to thank all the teams who took part for providing great football with all age groups showing great sportsmanship and providing some super games.
The tournament kicked off on Saturday morning with the U7 age group and then all age groups up to U13 played with some great games throughout the day.
On the Sunday the U15’s & U16’s got the day started and they played some excellent football and then the afternoon heated up as our Over 35’s took to the pitch and there was some great support on the sidelines from family and friends and it was EMU who overcame Donacarney in the final to lift the cup but a great team performance by all.
The tournament finished off on Sunday afternoon with the senior teams and they were playing for the Memorial Cup for Jae Kim one of our senior team players who passed away earlier this year after a short illness. The final seen two Donacarney teams play each other and it ended in a penalty shoot out with Donacarney Harchester beating last year’s winners but it was a fabulous finish to a wonderful weekend of soccer.
